Something for Everyone at the National Academy School
The Academy School has been an integral part of the institution since its inception, with an important history of accomplished students. While adapting and changing with the times, the school has always supported the individual artistic journey and maintained a progressive philosophy—the Academy School was one of the first American art schools to accept women students, and women were also frequent contributors to the Annual Exhibitions.
The National Academy School offers artistic instruction for artists of every level. With an impressive variety of classes and programs, students may choose by artistic discipline, instructor, schedule and level of commitment. National Academy students have the unique opportunity to work in a small class environment with northern-light studios under the direction of the working artists that make up our celebrated faculty. In addition to classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and more, the Academy offers a variety of workshops, lectures and critiques as well as visits to NYC studios and museums. The Academy has something for everyone and students are encouraged to develop and explore their personal creative journey in accordance with their own artistic goals.
