Classes
The Academy offers a variety of classes designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Choose from an array of figure, still-life, landscape and abstract drawing and painting classes as well as classes specializing in watercolor and pastel. Sculpture, printmaking and mixed media are also offered and we have a selection of classes designed exclusively for young artists (children ages 6-16). For the more serious student, uninstructed classes are available and the Diploma Program offers the opportunity for personalized mentoring, individual critiques and a more intensive, one-on-one experience.
The Academy school offers a supportive and vibrant learning environment through small class sizes, personal attention from faculty and a unique blend of dedicated students. There are no portfolio requirements for entry and students are encouraged to work at their own pace and pursue their own artistic path.

Workshops and Lectures
Throughout the year the Academy hosts many innovative and provocative workshops and lectures. These range from hour-long lunchtime lectures to one and two-day intensives to week-long and evening workshops that cover a variety of subjects and artistic techniques. To learn more about our workshops, please download a PDF of our catalog.
Youth Classes
Classes for children ages 6-16 are offered after school and on Saturdays. In the summertime weeklong, 9 AM - 4 PM art camps for various age groups are also offered.
Independent Study
Students who would like to pursue their own course of study can take uninstructed classes that allow them to draw from a live model. Sculpture and printmaking studios are also available for independent work. The Academy offers students the opportunity to have their work evaluated through its Master Critique series. Held throughout the year and delivered by an impressive collective of artists, these critiques are an invaluable tool for the serious and independent artist. Students gain critical insight and important direction from professional artists many of whom are also esteemed members of the Academy.
Uninstructed Studio Rental
Studios are available for a rental fee for independent work during the summer as well as sporadically during the school year. Interested artists should check with the school office for availability and fee schedule.
