Students will learn how to handle the material of paint, prepare surfaces, (including how to stretch a canvas), and even how to clean brushes correctly. As it is a hands-on class, it will include some fundamental critical concepts that can provide a basis for continued artistic development - including scale, drawing in paint, color, and specificity of materials.
