Frederick Brosen


Rick Brosen received his BA from The City College of New York after which he attended The Art Students League. In 1979 he received an MFA from Pratt Institute. He has had numerous group and one man shows at the Staempfli Gallery, NY; the National Arts Club; the National Academy; the American Watercolor Society; the Schmidt-Bingham Gallery; the Hollis Taggart Galleries, and the Museum of the City of New York. In 2002 the Frye Museum in Seattle mounted a retrospective. He is currently represented by Hirschl & Adler Galleries.

Mr. Brosen's work is found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; the Hood Museum, Hanover, NH; the New-York Historical Society; the Rockefeller Foundation, and in numerous corporate and private collections. He has been the recipient of many awards and grants including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and the Lucy B. Moore Memorial Award. He was an artist-in-residence in 1985 at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire.
