Lotus Do Brooks
Painting and Drawing for 13-16 year olds
Ms. Do Brooks, a member of the art department at the Dalton School, was educated at Cooper Union School of Art and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has participated in exhibitions at the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore; the Eubie Blake Museum; the Edith Lambert Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; the Institute of Contemporary Art, PS1 New York, and the Wendell Street Gallery, NY.
Ms. Do Brooks has taught young people pastel, drawing and painting for many years at the Dalton School, the National Academy, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Her work can be found in the collections of the Bronx Museum; the Eubie Blake Museum, Baltimore; the Asian American Arts Center; the Buangshou Academy of Fine Arts in China, and the American Samoan Museum.
Her work was recently featured on a T.V. series, 'Teaching Stories through Images', created by Jim Henson Productions. She was also featured as the career artist for the 2003 edition of Davis & Davis' Painting textbook.
