Lorraine Shemesh, NA


Lorraine Shemesh, NA has taught both drawing and painting at The Rhode Island School of Design and Amherst College. She received a B.F.A. Magna Cum Laude from Boston University and an M.F.A. from the Tyler School of Art. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in museums nationally including the DeCordova Museum, The Museum of The Rhode Island School of Design, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Nasher Museum of Art, The Frye Art Museum in Seattle, The Museum of the City of New York, and The National Academy Museum of Art. She recently had a solo exhibition at The Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio. She is the recipient of numerous awards and her work has been reproduced and reviewed in many publications including The New York Times, Art in America, and The New Yorker. She has been represented by the Allan Stone Gallery in New York City for 25 years.
