Alex Zwarenstein
Alex Zwarenstein studied at the Royal Academy of Art, London and the Kingston-on-Thames Polytechnic School. While at the Royal Academy he won the prestigious Royal Academy Gold Medal. His other awards include the William Turner Travel Prize, the Armitage Award, an Edward Landseer Scholarship, the Vincent Harris Prize for Mural Design, and the Edward Stott Scholarship.
Mr. Zwarenstein has appeared in summer exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Art in London; at the Ann Nathan Gallery in Chicago; the Miranda Gallery in Aspen, CO; the Alysia Duckler Gallery in Portland, OR, and the Art Obsession Gallery in Japan. His most recent solo exhibition at the Ettinger Gallery was in July 2005. Mr. Zwarenstein has taught abroad at the Harrow College of Art and in the U.S. at the Fashion Institute of Technology. His work is in many private collections, both in the U.S. and abroad. His work has been reproduced on the cover of Forbes Magazine and the National Review and he co-authored a book with Brian Little on Materials and Techniques of Painting, published in England.
