General School Info

School Information
At the National Academy School of Fine Arts, students have a unique opportunity to work in a small class environment with northern lit studios and a prime natural light source. In addition to our many varied classes, we offer a variety of workshops, lectures, intensive critiques with members of the Academy, studio and museum visits.

Diploma Program
The National Academy Diploma Program is a self-directed, atelier-style learning experience designed for the serious art student to support their personal creative journey. The broad-based curriculum, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking, will be chosen by the student in collaboration with an artist mentor, based on the applicant’s skills and goals. Students will work toward a final solo exhibition at the National Academy. For more information on applying to the program click here.

Visiting Artist Workshops
The ongoing series of visiting artists classes introduces varying artistic philosophies to the students. Requirements for admission vary with each instructor; some classes require intermediate training.

Uninstructed Studio Rental
Studios are available for a rental fee for independent work during the summer as well as sporadically during the school year. Interested artists should check with the school staff as to individual studio availability and for the fee schedule.
If you have not visited the school, please call us for more information and a personal tour at 212.996.1908. We look forward to welcoming you.
