GREGORY AMENOFF, NA

Painter Gregory Amenoff was born in St. Charles, IL, 1948, and earned a BA from Beloit College and currently teaches at Columbia University. He is currently finishing his tenure as President of the National Academy, a post he has held since 2001. He lives and works in New York City and is represented by the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, NY. Recent exhibitions have been at the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries; Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Nielson Gallery, Boston; Robert Miller Gallery, NY; Hirschl & Adler Gallery, NY; Galerie Montenay-Delsol, Paris; and the Butler Institute of American Art; and numerous others across the country. Group shows have included Boston Museum of Fine Arts; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Phoenix Art Museum; Corcoran Gallery of Art; National Gallery of Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. His work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Museum of Modern Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Grant and a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant.
