Painter Will Barnet was born in 1911 and studied painting with Philip Leslie Hale at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and printmaking with Charles Locke at the Art Students League. He has taught at the Art Students League, Cooper Union, Yale University, Cornell University, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; and continues to do master classes at the National Academy School of Fine Arts. He lives and works in New York City and is represented by the Babcock Gallery, NY. Mr. Barnet has had numerous exhibitions at the Alexandre Gallery, NY; Tibor de Nagy Gallery; Susan Teller Gallery; Sylvan Cole Gallery; and recently the Montclair Art Museum; Springfield Art Museum, MO; and the Farnsworth Art Museum. His work is virtually in every major public collection in the United States. He is the recipient of awards from the National Academy; Carnegie Institute; Ford Foundation; Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; and the American Academy of Arts & Letters. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters; and serves as Honorary Vice President of the National Academy.
