Born in Harrisburg, PA, 1952, painter Gregory Botts studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the School of Visual Arts. He has taught at various schools including the American Ranch, CO; University of California, Santa Barbara, Landscape Institute; National Academy School of Fine Art; and the New York Studio School. He has lectured at New York University; New York Studio School; and Brandeis University. He lives and works in New York City and Abiquiv, NM. Recent exhibitions include the Roswell Art Museum, NM; Art Resources Transfer, NY; Tony Shafrazi Gallery; Anne Plumb Gallery; Honolulu Academy of Arts; Earl McGrath Gallery, Los Angeles; Ro Snell Gallery, CA; and the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. Group exhibitions include the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries; and the Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. His work is included in the collections of the Denver Art Museum; La Jolla Museum of Art; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, Honolulu; IBM Corp.; Chase Manhattan bank; and the Shimuzo Corp., Atlanta. He is the recipient of an Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Grant; American Academy of Arts & Letters Award; and residencies at the Joshua Tree National Monument and Death Valley National Park.
