Painter Tom Boutis was born in New York, NY, 1922, and studied at Cooper Union and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He has taught at Cooper Union, Summer Session and the Bronx Art League. He lives and works in New York City. Recent exhibitions include the Greek Embassy; Landmark Gallery; Aaron Berman Gallery, NY; National Academy; American Academy of Arts & Letters; Brooklyn Museum of Art; and the State University of New York, Purchase. His work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY; Colby College; Canton Art Institute; and the corporate collections of Ciba Geigy and Calvin Klein, New York and Europe. He is the recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships; Mark Rothko Foundation Grant; National Endowment for the Arts Grants; New York Council on the Arts Grant; and a Rockefeller Residency Program, Bellagio, Italy.
