Graphic artist and poet Ann Chernow was born in New York, NY, 1936, and studied at Syracuse University School of the Arts and holds a BS and MA from New York University and is chair of the Art Department, Norwalk Community Technical College. She has taught at the Museum of Modern Art, University of Connecticut, Silvermine Guild, and the National Academy School of Fine Arts. Recent exhibitions include Kincannon Fine Arts, Dallas, TX; Dorothy Rogers Fine Arts, Santa Fe, NM; University of Indiana; and upcoming shows at the Silvermine Guild and the Uptown Gallery, NY. Her work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; National Academy; Brooklyn Museum of Art; Museum of the City of New York; Library of Congress; Oakland Museum; Yale University; and the Portland Museum of Art, OR. She is the recipient of a Florsheim Foundation Award; United Nations Artists of the Year Award; Trustees Merit Award, Housatonic College; Connecticut Commission of the Arts Award; Eisner Foundation Grant; Yale/Mellon Grant; Audubon Artists Award; and the Saga and Delta International Awards. She represented the United States at the Print Festival, Ljublijana, Slovenia.
