Painter Peter Cox was born in New York, NY, 1942, and studied at the New York-Phoenix School of Design, Parsons School of Design, Catholic University, School of Visual Arts, and the Art Students League and he currently serves as president of the National Arts Club. He has taught at the National Academy School of Fine Arts, Art Students League, and the New York Academy of Figurative Art. He lives and works in New York City. Recent exhibitions include numerous shows at MB Modern; Gallery Dai Ichi, NY; CFM Gallery, NY; Joseph Keiffer, Inc.; Carolyn Hill Gallery; Babcock Gallery; Louis Newman Gallery, Beverly Hills; Arnot Museum; John Pence Gallery, San Francisco; and the Allan Stone Gallery. His work is included in the collection of the National Academy; Arkansas Art Center; Redding Museum; and Frank Weill, Department of Commerce, Washington, DC. He is the recipient of several Gold Medals from the National Arts Club and the Pastel Society of America; and a John Gordon Memorial Award, Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, FL.
