Born in Brooklyn, NY, 1943, painter Simon Dinnerstein studied at the Brooklyn Museum School and earned a BA at the City College of New York and a Fulbright Certificate, Hochschul fur Bilende Kunst, Kassel, Germany. He has taught at the New School, Parsons School of Design, and the National Academy School of Fine Arts.He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and is represented by the ACA Galleries, NY. Recent exhibitions include ACA Galleries; Bread and Roses Gallery, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Labor Center, NY; St. Peter's Church, NY; Walton Arts Center; Joy Pratt Markham Gallery, AK; Texarkana Regional Arts Center; Re-Presenting Representation, Arnot Art Museum; Marsh Art Gallery, University of Richmond, VA; and Modern American Realism, National Museum of American Art touring exhibition. He is included in the collections of the Smithsonian National Museum of Art; Palmer Museum of Art, Pennsylvania State University; Minnesota Museum of Art, St. Paul, MN; Museum of Art and Archaeology, University of Missouri, Columbia; and the National Academy of Design. He is the recipient of an American Academy in Rome Fellowship; a Lazarus Fellow, Metropolitan Museum of Art; Fulbright Fellowship, Germany; Ingram Merrill Award for Painting; Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant; and a NY State Foundation for the Arts Grant.
