Born in Montclair, NJ, 1927, painter Lois Dodd studied at Cooper Union. She has taught at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She lives and works in New York City and is represented by the Alexandre Gallery, NY. Recent exhibitions include the Alexandre Gallery; numerous shows at Fischbach Gallery, NY; Tanager Gallery; Green Mountain Gallery; Bowdoin College Museum; New York Studio School; Jaffe-Fried Gallery, Dartmouth College; Lynchberg College; and the Caldbeck Gallery, Rockland, ME. Her work is included in the collections of the National Academy; American Academy of Arts & Letters; Colby College Museum; Cooper-Hewitt Museum; Dartmouth College Museum; Farnsworth Art Museum; Chase Manhattan Bank; Commerce Bancshares; and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.; She is the recipient of the Longview Foundation Purchase Award; Ingram-Merrill Foundation Grant; Henry Ward Ranger Fund Purchase Award, National Academy; Longview Foundation Purchase Award; L.S. Gervast Awards; and an Italian Government Study Grant.
