Born in Bellows Falls, VT, 1953, Anthony Frudakis studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and earned an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives and works in Hillsdale, MI, and teaches at Hillsdale College, MI.
One-person exhibitions include Hillsdale College, MI; Sturgis Civic Center, MI; and the Ocean City Cultural Center, NJ. Group exhibitions include National Academy of Design Annual Exhibition; Sports Sculpture, National Sculpture Society of New York; Legacy Lives, Hillsdale College; Regional Exhibition, Toledo Art Museum, OH; and Vision and Values, Grand Central Gallery, NY. He is in the collections of Brookgreen Gardens, SC; Hillsdale College, MI; and William F. Buckley Collection. Commissions include the Hamilton Memorial, Fort Wayne, IN; Andromeda, East Lansing, MI; Ascension, St. Mary's Cathedral, Saginaw, MI; Flora, Fee Park, Adrian, MI; and Madonna, St. Anthony's, Hillsdale, MI. His work is published in Arthur Williams, Sculpture; and Masters of American Sculpture, edited by Donald Reynolds. He is the recipient of the Daniel Chester French Award and the NAD Fund Prize, National Academy of Design Annuals; and the L. Meiselman Prize, Gloria Medal, Gold Medal, Lantz Award, and Best Portrait Award, National Sculpture Society Exhibitions.
