Born in Denver, CO, 1931, painter Peter Heinemann studied with Joseph Albers at Black Mountain College. He teaches painting and drawing at the School of Visual Arts. He lives and works in New York City and is represented by Schlesinger Gallery, NY. Recent exhibitions include numerous shows at the Schlesinger Gallery; Gallery 120; Hacker Gallery; Roko Gallery; Center for Figurative Painting; 55 Mercer Street Gallery; New York Studio School Gallery; Prince Street Gallery; and the Visual Arts Museum. His work is included in the collection of the Center for Figurative Painting. He is a recipient of a New York Foundation Grant; NEA Grant; CAPS Grants; and a Childe Hassam Purchase Award, American Institute of Arts & Letters.
