Born in Detskoye Selo, Russia, 1923, painter and watercolorist Serge Hollerbach studied at the Munich Academie of Fine Arts, Munich, Art Students League, and the American Art School in New York. He lives and works in New York City, teaches at the National Academy School of Fine Arts, and is represented by the Newman & Saunders Galleries, Wayne, PA. Recent exhibitions include La Citadelle, France; Newman & Saunders Galleries; The Lotus Club; Russian Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Russia; Harbor Square Gallery, Rockport, ME; Anna Akhmatova Museum, Russia; Galerie Marie-Therese, Paris; Municipal Galerie, France; Watercolor USA, Butler Institute of American Art; and the National Arts Club. His work is included in the collections of the Butler Institute of American Art; Georgia Museum of Art; New York Public Library; Oklahoma Museum of Art; University of Kentucky Art Museum; Yale University Art Gallery; and the Zimmerli Art Museum. He is the recipient of a Dolphin Medal and Silver Medals, American Watercolor Society; Silver Medal and Gold Medal, Baltimore Watercolor Society; and the William A. Paton Prize and the Frederic & Eileen Monaghan Whitaker Prize, National Academy.
