Born in Hong Kong, 1926, painter Diana Kan studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, and the Art Students League, NY. She lives and works in New York City and is represented by the China 2000 Fine Art Gallery, NY, Midtown Payson Gallery, and the Chasen Reed Gallery, both in San Francisco, CA. Recent exhibitions include National Historical Museum, Taiwan; Hong Kong Art Center; Shenzhen Museum of Art, China; Alisan Fine Art; Midtown Payson Galleries; National Arts Club, NY; Chasen Reed Gallery, FL; and the Royal Society of Art, Mexican Museum. Her work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Nelson-Atkins Museum; National Historical Museum, Taiwan; Hong Kong Art Center; and Government House, Vancouver, BC, Canada. She is the recipient of a Gold Medal, Salmagundi Club, NY; Gold Medal, Audubon Artists; "Living Legend of Greenwich Village" honor, 2000; and honored with "Diana Kan Day" in Boston (June 1, 1991) and New York City where Mayor Rudolph Giuliani proclaimed May 5, 2000 in her honor.
