Born in Burri, 1936, master printer Mohammad Khalil studied at the School of Fine and Applied Arts in Khartoum and continued his studies on a Sudanese Government Fine Arts Scholarship at the Art Academy in Florence, Italy. He has taught at the New School; New York University; Columbia University; Parsons School of Design; and Pratt Institute. He lives and works in New York City. He also works as a master printer for several New York galleries. He is represented by the Skoto Gallery. Recent exhibitions include the Smithsonian Institution; Skoto Gallery, NY; Asilan Gallery, Morrocco; and the Gallery Claude Lemonde, Paris, France. His work is included in the collection sof the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Brooklyn Museum of Art; Smithsonian Institution; Library of Congress; and many private collections throughout the country. He is the recipient of the Leo Meissner Prize for Printmaking, National Academy; 1st Prize, Inter-Biennial of Cairo; Bronze Prize, Osaka Triennial, Osaka, Japan.
