Born in New York, NY, 1925, painter David Lund earned a BA from Queens College and did graduate work at New York University. He has taught at Cooper Union, Parsons School of Design, New York University; F.I.T., Metropolitan Museum for the 92nd Street YMHA, and the National Academy School of Fine Arts. Recent exhibitions include the Turtle Gallery, ME; HHAR Gallery, NY; Wingspread Gallery, ME; Allport Associates Gallery, San Francisco; Bixby Gallery, Washington University, St. Louis; Sehwig Gallery, St. Louis; numerous shows at the Grace Borgenicht Gallery; Maine State Museum; Colby College, ME; Worcester Art Museum; Butler Institute of American Art; Mid-America Arts Alliance; Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art; numerous shows at the National Academy Museum; New York Studio School; and the Toledo Museum of Art. His work is included in the collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art; McNay Art Institute, San Antonio, TX; Delaware Art Museum; Johnson Museum, Cornell University; Fort Worth Art Center; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is the recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships, Rome; Hassam Purchase Award, American Academy of Arts & Letters; and the Benjamin Altman Prize, National Academy.
