Born in Baltimore, MD, 1935, painter Raoul Middleman earned a BFA from Johns Hopkins University and did additional studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Brooklyn Museum School. He has taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He lives and works in Baltimore, MD, and is represented by the Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore, MD. Recent exhibitions include the C. Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore; Whitney Museum of American Art; National Academy Museum; Roger LaPelle Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Kouros Gallery, NY; and the Allan Stone Gallery, New York. His work is included in the collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art; National Gallery, Washington, DC; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Syracuse University; and the American Broadcasting Company. He is the recipient of the R. & R. Philip Prize, National Academy of Design, of which he is a former president.
