Born in Kalopa, Hawaii, 1935, printmaker George Miyasaki earned a BFA and an MFA at the California College of Arts & Crafts, Oakland. He has taught at the California College of the Arts; Stanford University; and the University of California. He lives and works in Berkeley, CA and is represented by the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco, CA. Recent exhibitions include the Paul Klein gallery, Chicago; Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco; Mary Ryan Gallery, NY; University of New Mexico Art Museum; Barrington Center for the Arts, Gordon College, MA.; Worcester Art Museum; Knoxville Museum of Art, TN; and the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art, Northwestern University, IL. His work is included in the collections of the Pasadena Art Museum; Brooklyn Museum of Art; San Diego Museum of Art; Metropolitan Museum of Art; British Museum, London; Worcester Art Museum; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. He is the recipient of a John Hay Whitney Opportunity Fellowship; Henry Ward ranger Purchase Award, National Academy Museum; GSA Award; National Endowment for the Arts Grant; and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
