Born in New York, NY, 1928, sculptor Marilyn Newmark studied at Alfred University and Adelphi College and privately with Paul Brown. She has taught at the Kentucky Horse Park. She lives and works in East Hills, NY. Recent exhibitions include Fasig-Tipton, Saratoga, NY; and Belmont Park, Elmont, NY., and is represented by the Sportsman's Gallery, Atlanta, GA. Recent exhibitions include Brookgreen Gardens, SC; Butler Institute of American Art; Allied Artists of America; Fleischer Museum; and the National Sculpture Society. Her work is included in the collections of the National Museum of Racing; and the Thoroughbred Racing Association, Lexington, KY; Charles Scribner, NJ; Japan Racing Associatoin; Museum of the Horse, KY; National Museum of racing; and numerous private collections.She is the recipient of several Speyer Prizes, National Academy; Artists Fund Prize; and has been honored by the Allied Artists of America with a Gold Medal and the Meiselman Award; American Artists Professional League; and the Hudson Valley Art Association. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Animal Artists.
