Born in Big Spring, TX, 1944, painter Patricia Nix studied at the Art Students League with Vclav Vytlacil, New School, and earned a BA from New York University. She lives and works in New York City and Paris and is represented by the Hillegoss Galleries, Chicago, Dillon Gallery, Oyster Bay, NY, and Marie Claude Goinnard, Paris, France. Recent exhibitions include the Saint Peter's Church, NY; Hillegoss Galleries; Dillon Gallery; Sangre De Christo Museum; Texas Tech Museum; Hecksher Museum; National Museum of American Art; University of Connecticut, New Acquisitions; and the American Embassy, Rome. Her work is included in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum; Newport Harbor Museum of Art; Santa Fe Museum; Credit Suisse Corp.; San Antonio Museum of Art; Hecksher Museum; and the Minnesota Museum of Fine Art, St.Paul. She is the recipient of a Gold Medal, Federation Insternational Culturelle Feminine, Paris, France.
