ANTHONY PADOVANO, NA

Born in Brooklyn, NY, 1933, sculptor Anthony Padovano studied at the Carnegie Institute of Technology and Hunter College, and earned a BFA from Columbia University. He lives and works in Putnam Valley, NY, and is represented by the Kouros Gallery, NY. Recent exhibitions include the James Graham Gallery; Vorpal Gallery; Westchester Community College; Kouros Gallery, NY; Salamagundi Club; Museum of Modern Art; Whitney Museum of American Art; and the Storm King Art Center. His work is included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art; World Trade Center; Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art; Smithsonian Museum of American Art; Sarah Lawrence College; Storm King Art Center; National Gallery of Art; and the Port Authority of NY and NJ. He was commissioned by the I-80 Project to carve a work for the state of Nebraska. He is the recipient of the Prix de Rome; Guggenheim Fellowship; and a Gold Medal, National Academy of Design.
