Born in Helena, MT, 1929, sculptor Charles O. Perry studied at Columbia University, University of California, Berkeley, and earned an MA in architecture at Yale University. He lives and works in Norwalk, CT. Practicing initially as an architect in California, he returned to sculpture in 1964 and was professor-in-residence Dartmouth College and the Academy in Rome. Recent exhibitions include Alpha Gallery, Los Angeles; Signorello Gallery, Westport; Arts Club of Chicago; Dartmouth College; Venice Biennale; Spoleto Festival; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. His work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; San Francisco Museum of Art; De Young Memorial Museum; Museum of Modern Art; Dartmouth College; University of Michigan; and the National Air and Space Museum. He is the recipient of the Prix de Rome; and awards from the American Iron and Steel Institute and the National Academy of Design.
