DEBORAH REMINGTON, NA NA 1999 Born in Haddonfield, NJ, 1935, painter Deborah Remington earned a BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute, and studied calligraphy in Japan for two years. She lives and works in New York City and has taught at both Cooper Union and New York University. Recent exhibitions include the Mitchell Algus Gallery, NY; several Whitney Museum of American Art Biennials; American Academy of arts & Letters; Cleveland Museum of Art; Gallerie Darthea Speyer, Paris; Shoshana Wayne Gallery, Los Angeles; Jack Shaiman Gallery, NY; Ianuzzi Gallery, Phoenix; and the Oakland Museum of Art, CA. Here work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; San Francisco Museum of Art; Milwaukee Art Museum; Butler Institute of American Art; Boysmans Museum, Rotterdam, Holland; Carnegie Museum; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant; American Academy of Arts & Letters Award; Guggenheim Fellowship; National Endowment for the Arts; and a Tamarind Lithography Workshop Fellowship.
