Born in New York, NY, 1924, painter Leatrice Rose graduated from Cooper Union and attended the Art Students League and the Hans Hofmann School. She lives and works in New York City and has taught at the Art Students League, Columbia University, and Brooklyn College. Recent exhibitions include the Hansa Gallery; Tibor de Nagy Gallery; Zabriskie Gallery; American Academy of Arts & Letters; Whitney Museum of American Art, Downtown branch; Queens Museum of Art; and the Cyrus Gallery. Her work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Syracuse University; Ciba-Geigy Collection; and Guild Hall Museum. She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Grant; American Academy of Arts & Letters Grant; Ingram Merrill Foundation Grant; and an Esther and Adolph Gottlieb Foundation Grant.
