Born in Ohio, 1938, sculptor Jonathan Shahn taught at the Tyler School of Fine Art, Temple University, Boston University, Boston Museum Art School, and the Maryland Institute College of Art. He lives and works in Roosevelt, NJ, and is represented by the O'Hara Gallery, NY, and the Hackett Freedman Gallery, San Francisco. Recent exhibitions include the Oitart Gallery, NY; O'Hara Gallery, NY; Hackett-Friedman Gallery, San Francisco; National Academy Museum annuals; and the University of California, Santa Cruz. His work is included in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery; Vatican, Rome, Italy; and Princeton University. Commissions include a bronze of Martin Luther King, Jr., NJ Transit, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line; and bas reliefs illustrating the civil-rights movement, New Jersey Transit Authority, Jersey City.
