Born in Buffalo, NY, 1948, printmaker Evan Summer earned a BS from State University of New York, Cortland, a BFA, State University of New York, Buffalo, and an MFA from Yale University. He lives and works in Wyomissing, PA, and has taught at Kutztown University, Pratt Graphics Center, Tyler School of Art, Wesleyan University, and University of Pennsylvania. Recent exhibitions include Evan Summer: Landscapes & Nocturnes, Corcoran Gallery of Art; Cosmos Club, Washington, DC; The Arts Club, Washington, DC; Dowd Fine Arts Gallery; Philadelphia College of Art; Reading Public Museum, PA; Il Quadrato di Omega Gallery, Rome, Italy; International Print Triennial, Cracow, Poland; International Biennial Print Exhibition, Republic of China, Taipei. His work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art; Corcoran Gallery of Art; Brooklyn Museum of Art; Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is the recipient of the Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial Award; Ralph Fabri Prize and a Leo Meissner Prize, National Academy.
