Born in Bemidji, MN, 1940, sculptor Sharon Wandel studied at the Art Students League, SUNY Purchase, and earned a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College. She lives and works in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and is represented by the Munson Gallery, Carol Craven Gallery, and Elan Fine Arts. Recent exhibitions include Silvermine Guild of Artists; Pen and Brush Club, NY; Chappaqua Library, NY; Clark Whitney Gallery, MA; James Cox Gallery at Woodstock; Cortland Jessup Gallery, MA; Gallery Marya; The Firehouse Gallery, ME; and Gallery Irohane, Japan. Her work is included in the collections of the Westinghouse Corp.; Art Students League; National Academy; Housatonic Museum; and the Pfizer Corp.She is the recipient of a National Sculpture Society award; Chaim Gross Foundation Award, Audubon Artists; Allied Artists awards; North American Sculpture Exhibition award; Silvermine Guild award; 1st Prize, Matrix Gallery; and several awards from the Salamagundi Club, NY.
