Born in New York, NY, 1935, sculptor Charles Wells earned a BA from Amherst College and apprenticed with Leonard Baskin. He lives and works in Washington Crossing, PA, and is represented by the Printworks Gallery, Chicago. Recent exhibitions include Printworks, Chicago; LaSalle University Art Museum; and several sculpture commissions. His work is included in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, DC; LaSalle University; Massachusetts Institute of Technology Collection; Library of Congress; University of Rochester; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is the recipient of a National Institute of Arts & Letters Award; Rome Prize Fellowship; and a Sierra Club Grant.
