NA 1995
Born in Rochester, NY, 1942, painter Sharon Yates earned a BFA from Syracuse University and an MFA from Tulane University. She lives and works in Lubec, ME. Recent exhibitions include the Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre, Canada; Pinkhard Gallery, Maryland Institute College of Art; Turtle Gallery, ME; University of Maine; Maryland Institute, College of Art; Center for Maine Contemporary Art; Fischbach Gallery, NY; Towson State University, MD; Bates College Museum of Art; Colby College Museum of Art; and the University of Louisville. Her work is included in the collections of the Bates College Museum of Art; Oklahoma City Art Museum; University of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; University of Louisville; United Technologies; and the National Academy of Design. She is the recipient of a Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation Fellowship; Blanche E. Coleman Trust Award; Ingram Merrill Foundation Grant; Rome Prize, American Academy in Rome; and the Shatalov Prize, National Academy.
