Born in Youngstown, OH, 1929, sculptor Jack Zajac lives and works in Santa Cruz, CA, and is represented by the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco. He has taught at Pomona College, Dartmouth Colllege, University of South Carolina, and University of California, Los Angeles. Recent exhibitions include the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco; Winfield Gallery, Carmel, CA;The Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco; L'Obelisco Gallery, Rome; Schneider Gallery, Rome; Downtown Gallery, NY; Felix Landau Gallery, Los Angeles. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden; Israel Museum of Art, Jerusalem; Stanford University Sculpture Garden; The City of Orvieto, Italy; and the UCLA Sculpture Garden. He is the recipient of a Rome Prize, American Academy in Rome; Guggenheim Fellowship; Limited Editions Club Prize for Etching; and an Artist-in-Residence, American Academy in Rome.
