Born in Floral Park, NY, 1923, painter Kathleen Zimmerman studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy School of Fine Arts. She lives and works in New York City and has taught at the MidTown School of Art. Recent exhibitions include the Broome Street Gallery, NY; Buecker Gallery, NY; Butler Institute of Ameriacn Art; and the Kenkeleba Gallery, NY. Her work is included in the collections of the Butler Institute of American Art; University of Wyoming; University of Miami; North Carolina Museum of Art; Swarthmore College; Rutgers University; Lowe Art Museum; Erie Art Museum; and the National Academy. She is the recipient of awards from the National Association of Women Artists; Allied Artists; National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic; Gold Medal, Audubon Artists; and the Paton Prize and the Henry Ward Ranger Prize, National Academy.
