Student exhibitions are held in the school throughout the year. Individual classes show their work in the student lounge and upstairs corridor. All students may submit to the winter Mid-Year Exhibition and prizes are awarded. Works by faculty members are exhibited in the lobby gallery of the school each Quarter. Faculty shows are an excellent aid to prospective students in class selection.

Annual Juried Student Exhibition
At the end of the spring semester, National Academy students are eligible to submit work to the Annual Student Exhibition. A jury of Academicians, school committee members, and instructors selects approximately 200 works in categories based on medium and subject matter. Also taking part in this exhibition are third year certificate students, who are invited to compete for traveling scholarships. These students arrange a body of their work on a designated wall. The exhibit is held in the Museum of the National Academy, located on Fifth Avenue. A special prize jury, made up of National Academicians, determines cash prizes and selects winners of the traveling scholarships.
