June 15 - 17, 2018
A weekend of workshops, immersive art, music, dance at the National Academy of Design
In collaboration with the National Academy of Design and David Humphrey, NA, the artist-run initiative BombPop! Up is hosting a three-day series of workshops and performances organized around the idea of "How To." Drawing on the history of the National Academy as a teaching institution as well as ideas of skill and information sharing inside artist communities, How To presents the workshop as a diverse and personal format, ranging from drawing to performance, movement, icon-making, and Dungeons and Dragons. Simultaneously, the Academy spaces will be activated by artworks by workshop leaders, invited artists, and produced by the workshops themselves. At the end of each day will be a reception featuring musical performances.
Featuring workshops, art, and performances by: Caroline Chandler & Jennifer Coates, Chowaniec Projects, Drea Cofield, Gaby Collins-Fernandez, FaltyDL, Inka Essenhigh, Tamar Ettun, Mark Thomas Gibson, Ilana Harris-Babou, David Humphrey, Haley Josephs, Alison Kuo, Claire Lachow & Evan Morse, Fiona Lundie, Leeza Meksin, Jonah Parzen-Johnson, Rachel Schmidhofer, Sheila Pepe, Pallavi Sen, and Tigue.
All workshops and events are free and open to the public. There will be a free zine, an interpretative Course Catalog, also available at the event. Learn more about workshops and preregister HERE and www.bombpopup.com
