Richard McDermott Miller, NA (1922-2004) focused on the female figure and created scores of works from tiny to monumental. The exhibit features a retrospective of his sculpture from 1964 to 2004 including ground-breaking works such as Mary Walking and Sandy in Defined Space, experimental studies, models for commissions, and examples of his portraits of well known individuals in business, arts, and letters.
In partnership with the National Sculpture Society, the exhibit will also include artwork by his friends, students, and those he influenced, including painters Paul Resika, NA George Nick, Charles Cajori, NA Donald Holden, and Barbara Grossman, NA, Pat Lasch, NA and sculptors Janice Mauro, John Belardo, and Howard Kalish, NA .
The exhibit features 83 works by 16 artists. 31 works are 2 dimensional, and 52 are 3 dimensional sculptures.
